SUMMER RENTAL RATES

ACCESS

The cabins at FOX BAY RETREAT are available for rental in winter, summer and anywhere in between. The property is located about 40 miles (64km) north of Whitehorse as the raven flies. Road access is via the Klondike Highway (No. 2) for about 24 miles (38km) and about 5 miles (8km) on the Fox Creek Road to the lake. There is only limited maintenance carried out on the Fox Creek road and for a brief period in spring (breakup) and during inclement weather conditions the road may be a little difficult. For this reason, all rentals include a one-time in and out trip from Whitehorse.

There is also SUMMER access via the Yukon River and Lake Laberge and it can be a very pleasant and relaxing summer excursion from downtown Whitehorse to the Fox Bay Retreat. This trip can be lengthened or shortened in time and distance through the use of access points in between.

FOX BAY FACILITIES

Accommodation at FOX BAY RETREAT is variable and adaptable. There are small, medium and large cabins available and the camp is designed with privacy in mind. Some of the summer and winter rental options appear here but as we said, we’re adaptable to any private plans that you may have.

All of the cabins include a wood stove for heat, most have a full size propane stove for cooking and there are permanent propane light fixtures as well as a number of battery lights. In summer time we have the midnight sun but if you’re planning a winter trip we recommend you bring a headlight and an adequate supply of batteries.

If you require battery charging for a camera or other portable appliance, the camp generators are run for a sufficient time each day to facilitate the job.

Each cabin comes with an adequate supply of household paraphernalia to make your stay comfortable. This includes bed linen, towels etc. There is no daily room service.

All rentals include access to a common bathroom/shower house. We generate our own electrical power as required. The generation noisy and to maintain the wilderness atmosphere the use of our generators is limited to certain hours each day.These times are posted and dictate the bathroom/shower house times as well. Each cabin is equipped with its own outside facility (outhouse).

There is a wood heated sauna available at all times on a first-come, first-used basis.

RESERVATIONS

Reservations are a must and well in advance if possible. A 25% deposit is required once the reservation has been confirmed by us. Full payment should be made 30 prior to the expected arrival date. The deposit is refundable if trip is cancelled 30 days prior to reservation date. A cancellation fee of $100. is charged. There is no refund due if trip cancelled within a 30 day period. 50% of the funds are usable at any future date for a stay at FOX BAY RETREAT or towards any of the services offered by KANOE PEOPLE LTD.

If arriving by air the airport transfer to downtown Whitehorse is provided free of charge.
